I named this design "Poe" as the over all vibe of it reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe's writings.

• • • Exclusive* use rights for this Ex Libris bookplate design - "Poe" - as shown, in up to *two* color options of your choice. You may either pick from the selection of color options I've shown here or request another color. (Please see the bottom of this listing for a note on exclusivity of use.)

- What are 'use rights' ? I as the artist retain all copyrights to this design but grant permission for it to be used by one authorized* person as a personal ex libris bookplate for adhering into a personal book collection. You (or, if being purchased as a gift, the one person it's intended for) would be the only one given authorized permission to use this bookplate so it is unique to your book collection.
(This is standard with all art, an artist retaining copyright, I'm simply explicitly stating it here so there's no confusion over how it can be used.)

- This listing is *only* for the authorized use rights and the *only* thing you will be sent is the digital print out file (that will be sent after I put your name on the plate, see below for requirements to claim this). I will email it directly to you. The file will allow you to print four bookplates at a time on a standard 8.5" x 11" piece of paper. (Bookplate is shown on standard printer paper in photos here. See below "additional options" for info on printing, paper, and stamps).

- Color: I've shown the bookplate printed in a range of color ways I created for this one but I can change it to any color you like if you don't see one here that speaks to you. Digital color shows differently than printed color so whatever color you choose I will get it as close as I can.

• • • Requirements for claiming this design:

- I will place your name or signature into the design to mark it out as yours (in the photos here as shown on the bottom lefthand side where I've put the placeholder text "your name here.") You can either have me put your own handwritten signature in for a personal touch or I can write it in in a nice font. A name/signature is required for purchase of this design or the files cannot be sent.

- Once you claim this design you can simply print it out at home, cut out the plates and paste it into any of your books. Standard printer paper works with a light wash of Elmers or archival glue. Press evenly and firmly into your book and apply flat pressure with a flat surface (another book works) for a few minutes until glue dries and plate is adhered throughout. Pay special attention to corners and edges. If you don't have access to a printer I can print out and send you cut bookplates of your design on standard printer paper for an additional cost. (Any print center - such as Staples - can also handle this request.) Message me if you'd like to discuss this option.

- This can be printed directly onto adhesive paper, cut out, and placed in books. This is the way I usually do it with my bookplates. If you would like, I can print out and send you ready to use adhesive plates of your design for an additional cost.

Those are the ways you can use your design for marking out your books, but again, purchasing this listing is *only* for the authorized use rights to this design, not for physical labels or stamps. Those are additional options at additional costs separate from this listing.

*Note on Exclusivity: I do reserve the right to use my own bookplate designs in my own library collection, hence the authorized user described here is the only person other than myself able to use this design. This is mostly for reasons that I have to do test prints and as the paper and ink is expensive & in order to reduce waste I put the test prints in my own books. This is just a full disclosure of a minor detail, you would be the only person with exclusive, authorized use apart from myself.
